What exactly is PDVideoToParticle and what does it do?

The short answer is: It is EXACTLY what its name implies.

With this software users have the ability to create Particles from videos for Powerdirector.

PDVideoToParticle will extract your video file and create the Powerdirector Particle for you.

You only have to browse to your video file, select it, choose your thumbnail and first image of the extracted video and your particle will be generated, ready for installation to Powerdirector.

After your Particle File has been generated,just double click your file and it will install automatically in the correct directory of Powerdirector!

In the video I go through the setup process and also shows you how everything works.

You are free to redistribute this software, but please do not claim it as your own 🙂 You may also upload it to your own website and offer it as a free download, but PLEASE do NOT sell it!

Oh, one other thing. I only tested this on Windows 7 64bit system, but the software itself is 32bit.

PDVideoToParticlePRO BETA

PDVideoToParticlePRO will extract your video file and create the Powerdirector Particle for you. With PDVideoToParticlePRO you have the option to select a background color from your video which you want removed during extraction. This way a transparent particle will be generated.

You can now remove green screen from your video in just one click and thus generating a transparent particle with no effort!

In my previous quick test. It did not work with the sample file KiteSurfing.wmv. Happy to say I tried it on an avchd video and it work fine.

Many thanks, works great. Is there a way to produce a .png partical video instead of jpg like you have in burning titles.

      thanks for the update, I do use VDSC video editor to produce a .mov video which works in power director with transparent background. So hoping I can create template from this.

Great software, thank you for supplying the world with this tool. I use it to create PD particles with transparent background by letting the tool extract a video into jpegs, replace these in the destination directory with png files which then will be used by PDVideoToParticle to create the final package. Installation of the generated .dgz file as PDTemplateZone particle works fine also. Do you think it would be possible to optionally skip the movie extraction part and let the program create the .dgz file from a collection of images directly?

Btw. I found that PD lets you import a .dgz file several times even with the same name. Do you happen to know how to delete a particle from the library?

your Pro version is just what i needed. So far it seems to work on both the jpg and png files.
I MUST remember to use a source file with the same aspect ratio as i’m using in powerdirector (forgot about that).

I was able to install the PowerDirector to Particle software and ran my first movie through.

I clicked on the created *.dzp file and it say “the PiP template was successfully installed and now ready to use. It is available for CyberLink PowerDirector”.

However, when I go to PowerDirector I can’t find it anywhere.

The PDTemplateZone folder can’t be found anywhere and the Particle named “Produce” can’t be located either.

Can you help.
