Powerdirector Animated Shape Titles

Hi All

Finally I managed to create After Affects alike tiles for Powerdirector. πŸ™‚ This is my first try and I don’t claim they are perfect, but hey, I proof with these that anything is possible if you put in an effort.

For now, I have put together a packed Powerdirector project file. This project file was created with Powerdirector 14 and should work with later versions as well. I cannot vouch for earlier versions, however I suspect that it would work with PD 13 as well. I can however declare that it won’t work with Powerdirector v12, as this version does not support keyframes.

I plan on generating separate title project files for download and easy installation. I will also upload some of them to directorzone. If you like these titles or find them useful, please be so kind as to leave a comment, as this is all I ask for my time and labour πŸ™‚

I just wish that Cyberlink would be more flexible and add more features so that I can create even better titles. I searched the internet, but could not find any API which would allow me to code my own plugins which would work within Powerdirector itself, like the Newblue plugin. Maybe one of you could point me in the right direction.

You may use these templates freely, but are not allowed to sell them or make them available as a download somewhere else. The other thing is, you will not hold me or my associates (wife and kids) πŸ™‚ liable for any damage incurred by you by using these templates. By downloading the templates, you agree that all risks rest entirely upon you alone πŸ™‚ If you do not agree, please do not download.

      Hi scoops

I am planning on creating a video tutorial on this. In the meantime, after you opened the project, just double click on one of them and the powerdirector title designer will automatically open it for editing. As promised, I’m also going to upload to directorzone to make installation and editing easier.

The very first title in the download does not use keyframes and does work properly in PD12. I made a custom title from it and it shows up the later versions of PD also.

      Hi

Sorry about the missing graphics. I found that if I pack the titles, I get this error. So I’m uploading them one by one now to directorzone πŸ™‚

Hi Alain. At the moment the background cannot be changed unfortunately. I’m still looking for a way to make it a reality.

      Cheers

PS. I answered your email. THANK YOU!!

Yes you will be able to change the background. Just open the folder where the title is installed and you will see the mages which should be updated. Use them as templates.

thank you for this, I delved into the settings, you can change the background in one or two of the clips fairly easily when your in the pip edit section to change the writing, choose to remove the background and then import your own. It looks a bit more difficult to do with one or two of the other clips as they have multiple segments of the background.

    Cheers

Thank you. I did some delving and decided to create these type of templates as Theme Designer Templates. Then it will be easy to change all segments of the background image. However, we will not be able to use normal powerdirector text, but will have to create our text with an external software and save it as transparent png’s to use in the template. Then the possibilities will be endless πŸ™‚

First time I get quality stuff on PD. Many thanks.

I get a lot of “multimedia source error” messages: is this due to some .png lost?

I wonder how you created this and the role of all those .png in the directory. Did you created them one by one? Just to understand how to modify your masterpiece and try to create a different version, with different colours, shapes, etc.

β€œmultimedia source error” <- this means that the path to the images in Powerdirector project file is wrong. (A PD problem unfortunately) I wonder how you created this and the role of all those .png in the directory. Did you created them one by one? <-- No, I did not create them one by one. The animations of the blocks were created in Powerpoint with GREEN SCREEN background, then I export the videos as png frames with TRANSPARENT GREEN SCREEN and then I load them in Powerdirector and add the text. Hope this gives you some directorion. πŸ™‚ Cheers

Hi. Unfortunately, only some of the templates work in PD11. The templates are mostly PD13 and upwards.
